The Samsung Galaxy A55 5G, which has been rumoured since last year, has moved a step closer to launch after being certified by Thailand’s NBTC.
The Samsung Galaxy A55 5G device that received NBTC certification bears the model code SM-A556E/DS, with “DS” denoting dual-SIM capabilities. The Thai certification organisation does not reveal any other information about the smartphone, but the identical model was also FCC approved, verifying 25W charging capabilities in the process.
However, the Samsung Galaxy A55 5G smartphone has already received several certifications, including those from India’s BIS, Indonesia’s TKDN, GCF, TUV, and Bluetooth SIG. It has also gone through the Geekbench 6 database, revealing that the gadget would be powered by Samsung’s Exynos 1480 processor, which has a maximum clock speed of 2.05 GHz. It will feature 8GB of RAM and run Android 14.
Samsung Galaxy A55 5G will most likely be released with the Galaxy A35 5G, which is also under development. The previous generation A5x and A3x smartphones were released in mid-March of last year. We may assume a similar timeframe this year, implying that we’re approximately a month away from the gadgets’ public introduction.
